EU standards is required to be worn at all times while on the water.

In the Netherlands the standard voltage is 230 V. The standard frequency is 50 Hz. The power sockets that are used are of type F. Below you find pictures of these power sockets and corresponding plugs.


You will receive an invitation to attend the 3rd Hobie Fishing European Championship in Sweden from the event organisers. You must formally accept this invitation by filling out supplied forms and send them back by email.


  • Anglers fishing HFE2017 will not be allowed to access the tournament arena Vinkeveense Plassen from and including Friday the 11th of August 2017, till and including Thursday the 7th of September 2017. A pre-fish ban means anglers are not allowed on competition waterways and linked systems for ANY REASON.
  • A pre-fish day will be allowed for the competitors only Friday September 8th.

Yes. After the registration is complete, competitors will receive an invitation to a facebook group.

The entry fee will be €100,- for all HFE2017 competitors.

You are free to stay anywhere you like, but VVP Verhuur is the official accommodation of HFE2017. More info can be found here.

Yes. In order to fish the Vinkeveense Plassen you need to have a special permit. Competitors can buy one at VVP Verhuur when you arrive.

Fishing gear – Rods, Reels, Line, Lures, PFD european standard CE and whatever you think is necessary. (Wet weather gear is advisable.)

Yes, but only one person per kayak.

No, pedal or paddle power only.

No, artificial lures only.

No, all fish must be caught from the kayak.

No. The fish must be in natural lay. It is not allowed to manipulate the fish.

If the first place angler cannot fulfill the invite, then the second place angler will receive the offer and trip. If the second place angler is unable to make the event then the invite and trip goes to the third place angler. The winner of the competition will have 7 days to notify Hobie of their intent to compete.
